The 2013 Local & Legend Music Festival
Bernie Worrell was a child prodigy who began studying piano at the tender age of three, performed his first Classical Concert at age four, wrote his first concerto at age eight, and performed with the Washington Symphony Orchestra at ten. His classical studies included private lessons at the Juilliard School of Music, before he entered the New England Conservatory of Music, majoring in Classical Piano.
Simply stated, Bernie Worrell is a Master Keyboardist, a founding member of original Parliament/Funkadelic and keyboard wizard whose liquid lines deftly steered P-Funk straight to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.
A master of improvisation, Steve Kimock has been inspiring music fans with his transcendent guitar speak, voiced through electric, acoustic, lap and pedal steel guitars. While one can say that his genre is rock, no one niche has ever confined him. Instead, through the years, he’s explored various sounds and styles based on what’s moved him at the time, whether it’s blues or jazz; funk or folk; psychedelic or boogie; gypsy or prog-rock; traditional American or world fusion.
Featuring: the Bernie Worrell Orchestra w/ Special Guest: Steve Kimock

2012 Music Scholarship Winner Announced
15-year old Priscilla Sanchez attends North Hunterdon High School. She states: "Ever since I was little, there was always a "click" when it came to music. There was something about the way it made me feel inside that had me wanting to play an instrument and in the summer leading into 7th grade, I got my alto saxophone and had my cousin teach me."
